532 Maitland Squadron Ground School

532 Maitland Squadron Ground School is a 2 phase program. Firstly, self-study will be completed by the cadets who are writing the examinations for Gliding and Flying Scholarship. Secondly, review, advanced training sessions, practical exercises and tests will be conducted in-class.

You will need the following reference materials to participate in the Ground School program:

1. From the Ground Up, 28th edition.

The Ground School schedule will be as follows:

1. November 19th - November 25th: Air Law
2. November 26th - December 2nd: Theory of Flight
3. December 3rd - December 9th: Meteorology
4. December 10th - December 16th: Navigation
5. December 17th - December 23rd: Airmanship/Radio/Engines

On the final day of each unit, there will be an online multiple choice closed book test. Every Tuesday, in order to remain in the ground school program, all candidates will be required to complete and pass the online testing. Every parade night, the marks will be reviewed, and any questions and concerns taken care of.
